A web feed (or news feed) is a data format used for providing users with frequently updated content. Content distributors syndicate a web feed, thereby allowing users to subscribe to it. (Wikipedia)
If you like reading what I write, subscribing to one (or multiple!) of my news feeds could be just the thing for you. Since I write about rather diverse subjects, however, you might not feel like reading every single post. Or then again you might. That’s why, in addition to the standard ‘catch-all’ feed and the comment feed, I’ve also added feeds for each category. These are the main ones:
- The Orange Feed is the main, ‘catch-all’ feed, containing posts from all categories.
- The Green Feed contains posts from the category Cultural.
- The Turquoise Feed is for posts in the Technical category.
- In the Violet Feed, you will find posts from Political.
- The Red Feed brings you posts from Personal, also known as the I-don’t-know-what-category-to-put-this-in category.
- And finally, the Yellow Feed is the comments feed.
There are also feeds for all posts in English and all posts in Swedish. If I start writing in another language, there will be feeds for that too.
If you’re still not quite sure what a news feed is or what it has to do with you, here’s an article which lists the benefits of feeds (it calls them all ‘RSS feeds’, RSS being one particular type of news feed), what they are and how to use them.
